Are you a carer of anyone living in the London Borough of Merton? If so you may be able to benefit from our services as Merton Crossroads - Caring for Carers aims to offer and provide a high quality, home based, individual respite service to carers and people with care needs within Merton.

• Committed to providing a high quality, home based respite service
• Designed to provide a few hours respite on a regular basis for the carers of ill and disabled people as well as children and adults with learning difficulties
• Free of charge to clients
• Recognised to help keep families together in the home and therefore out of hospitals and other institutions
• Contributes in no small measure to saving resources of both Merton Council and the NHS
• Is designed to be flexible and can easily be adapted to meet the needs of carers and those they care for.

At Merton Crossroads we are committed to providing practical support where it is most needed - in the home. All potential clients are visited and their needs assessed. Then trained and paid Care Support Workers go into the home to take over the caring tasks, giving the carer an essential break.

Our Care Support workers do whatever the carer would normally do. This can include personal care, such as help with feeding, moving, bathing, dressing, toileting, physiotherapy exercises or use of special equipment.
